CALENDAR HIGHLIGHTS
JANUARY
  • ROHATSU SESSHIN: 1/3-10. Commemoration of Buddha’s enlightenment. Sesshin is open only to signed up participants. Each day at 2pm there is a teisho (Oral Zen presentation). If you wish to attend sign-up with the Administrator.
  • ORIENTATION TO PRACTICE: Saturday 1/17, 9am – noon. See the Orientation to Practice page for details and how to register.
  • WINTER SANGHA MEETING: Sunday 1/18, 9-11:30 am
  • SAMU SUNDAY: Sunday 1/25, 9am – noon. A round of zazen then 2 hours of Samu (silent work practice) ending with a closing ceremony and lunch.
  • QUESTION AND RESPONSE: Wednesday 1/28, 7-9pm. Three rounds of zazen and dokusan replacing the last round with a chance to bring up any questions or issues. Our teachers might not provide an answer but will definitely respond. Nothing is off-limits.
FEBRUARY
  • ZENDO LEADERS WORKSHOP: Sunday 2/8, 11:30 – 12:30 or so. This will be held after the regular Sunday sitting schedule of zazen/dokusan. It will be a hands on practice and/or preparation for Jikijitsu, Ino, Jisha leadership positions.
  • ORIENTATION TO PRACTICE: Saturday 2/14, 9am – noon. See the Orientation to Practice page for details and how to register.
  • HUI PŪ MAI ZAZENKAI: Sunday 2/15, 8:30am – 4pm. The morning will be a regular zazenkai (all day sitting) schedule. The afternoon will be an exercise in coming together as a sangha.
